80ft Superyacht Refit – Aft Platform & New Zero-Speed Stabilizers

About project

Conceptual, detailed design, fabrication and complete realisation of zero-speed stabilizers and new transformer-type platform, onboard an 80ft GRP superyacht.

NAS was involved with the initial conceptual ideas for an existing 80ft GRP platform extension, with the preferred option being a transformer-type hydraulically actuated platform. Our scope eventually evolved to the complete naval-architectural design iteration, including structural, mechanical and stability analyses.

Simultaneously, our engineering department was entrusted with the sizing, location optimization and foundation design of two new zero-speed stabilizer fins and motors.

In the absence of approved build plans and original specifications we also crried 3d-scanning and onsite measurements as part of a reverse engineering process which was critical towards allowing accurate design results.
