Detailed design and fabrication engineering of a 55m existing yacht stern extension, aft upper deck extensions and new forward bulwark.

NAS provided the full detailed fabrication engineering for the stern extension, aft extensions for the upper decks and new forward bulwark design and fabrication engineering of an existing 55m superyacht. This involved a complex multifaceted project with various international suppliers, as well as production coordination on various sites.

As with every refit project, the biggest challenge was to fit the new extensions to the existing shape and structure.

Work Process:

  • Translation of design into structural drawings. 
  • Full 3D structural design and delivery of a cutting files to an external supplier with active onsite build supervision of the structural components.

Role as lead Naval Architects, ensuring the modifications were feasible within the stability parameters of the vessel and issuance of the new stability booklets for Flag and Class approval.
