Able to assist you with a wide range of maritime queries
As leaders, we share in and participate at decision-making levels that concern our entire sector with growth and sustainability driving our ethos. We nurture valuable industry relationships, ensuring that we provide accurate assessments and cost calculations based on your needs promptly and on budget as we bridge the gap between our clients’ ideas and seeing them materialise.
Refit Projects
No Refit project is alike, and each project comes with its own unique set of challenges, either on the regulatory front, the design integration, or the production feasibility. We have worked on multiple complex refit projects and understand the challenges that you, as an owner face to translate your vision into the result. We can step in along various parts of the project, providing initial design suggestions, detailed structural and systems drawings for production and onsite management.
Our services include:
- Design studies – Aesthetical and functional studies
- Integration within regulatory framework
- Structural interventions – Delivering design and ready to build cutting files
- Systems Retrofitting – Ballast Water treatment & Bilge
- Stability and performance – post refit certification
- On site Project management

Dry Dock Supervision
Planning and preparation in anticipation of any yard time and subsequent supervision to ensure that jobs are carried out as planned, and to the desired standards, are two essential steps in capitalising on investment and effort. We ensure the project timelines are adhered to and that the desired quality is maintained.

New build & dry-dock supervision
During the new build of both commercial as well as yacht projects, we can provide the technical support and advice required in assisting the owner and its team in managing the full spectrum of the project. Our objective throughout this process is delivering within the scope of the project, timeously and aware of all the moving parts, integrating risk assessments to avoid any possible disputes further down the line.
The process
We manage this process through daily back-ups, conducting regular surveys, and providing detailed and frequent reports to all the parties concerned at the various stages of the project. These visits are also followed up by progress meetings held at agreed intervals whereby any technical difficulties or problems arising throughout the execution of the project are tackled.

Regulatory Consultancy
By constantly monitoring the evolving world of marine regulation, we keep track of the present and future National and International requirements applicable to the various ship types. Whether these requirements incorporate an issue following a Port State Control inspection, a general query or even assistance in relation to upgrading or converting ships, we have the necessary tools and know-how to steer you through the pertinent International and National Regulations, particularly SOLAS, Load Line, MARPOL 73/78, the Torremolinos convention, STCW and various IMO Codes.
Design Regulatory assistance
Our aim is to assist in the design and optimisation of onboard systems and equipment as well as provide the necessary support to the client’s onboard and shore-based human resources. We fulfil this objective by exploring the best routes towards regulatory compliance, and in particular cases, by ensuring an equal level of safety through alternative design arrangements in accordance with international guidelines.
Regulatory fields
- SOLAS
- Load Line
- Marpol 73/78
- Torremolinos convention
- STCW
- Large Commercial Yacht -> Passenger Yacht assessment
- Damage Stability assessment of passenger vessels
- Passenger HSC Ferry assessment for use in EU Waters

Specialist Services
The maritime world is fast changing due to the pressures of climate change and an increased push to reduce the environmental footprint of the maritime industry. This has led to IMO mandated requirements on vessels environmental performance and subsequent limitations on operation and vessel lifetime. Due to our continuous inhouse research and strong regulatory knowledge, we can assess the vessels environmental performance and provide practical solutions to improve it through dedicated systems, optimized operations, or dedicated energy saving devices.

Ship performance and seakeeping
As the industry continues to push operational efficiency targets for sea-going vessels and the clients seek more efficient designs, the need for state-of-the-art designs and validation tools become a necessity to meet these milestones.
NAS utilises high-fidelity and advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solvers, to predict the performance of different vessel types and/or novel technologies, understand their hydrodynamic behaviour and fine-tune the forms and configurations to optimal designs.
The Department
The in-house CFD design & consultancy department, follows a research and developmental approach allowing us to be at the leading edge of design innovation. Our hydrodynamic experts make use of state-of-the-art technology that follows well-established and verified procedures to predict ship performance behaviour. That is why we can ensure to provide the most cost- effective and efficient designs catering to different clients worldwide.
